The remains of the bridge are only visible at extremely low tide. There are at least 15 piers without breakwaters. The structure is elevated by hollow chambers arranged obliquely to its longitudinal axis.
Material and Technique
Facing of the lower parts composed of small ashlars bonded with mortar. Upper parts are mortared rubble with facing of fieldstone and ashlars of varying sizes. The stone courses are separated by brick courses; many instances of inserted vertical bricks form irregular cloisonné. Arches are composed of alternating stone and brick courses.
