Three semi-circular arches; span of the central arch 6.70-6.77 m and of the flanking ones 5-5.15 m.
Material and Technique
The building material consists of large dressed stones bonded without mortar. Remains of ornamental details, lewis, and clamp holes on some of the voussoirs and ashlars show that they were reused pieces integrated into the new structure. The adaptation of the old material was carried out with great care: the blocks were partially reworked and fitted together without consideration of their original function. This use of spolia confirms the Byzantine origin of the structure. The rubble masonry of the spandrels belongs to a later restoration.
